I personally would follow the vets advice. I sadly have way too much experience with an ill dog. I DO take food - not water away and the next day I will give just small portions to see if the dog can tolerate the food at that point.
You say her tummy was making some really loud noise, I would def. not feed her. She may be upset that she can't eat right now and that makes you feel bad, but won't it make you feel worse if her tummy is hurting and she vomits again?
