We walk alot too as well as hike. But with young under one year old dogs, we limit the difficulty of the walks. By that I mean you take in weather conditions, hot hot hot, or snow and ice, and as well as inclines. When very very young 12 wks old or so, 30 minute walks twice per day. As pups grow up, maybe 6mths old one hour.

Razz at 8 months old was doing three hour hikes with a swim in the middle, and he was exhausted by the time we got back to car.

Now hike is out on trails different and uneven surfaces with some inclines, not pavement walking.
