Can't tell you how important this is. Do NOT fear him biting you. Do yoga breathing, whatever you have to do, to project confidence. You are in charge. You are the pack leader. You will prevail. If he senses fear, he will become more fearful, and MORE likely to bite, because he won't trust you to keep him safe. You are trustworthy. You will keep him safe. You will project this confidence when you pick him up, because you are responsible for him.

And I think the gradual programs described above are fabulous... take your time. He's 7, and it will take a little time for him to trust... but he will.
