Coccidia is an opportunistic parasite, present in the GI tract of the majority of dog, but multiplies during stressful situations ( such as new home ) specially in puppies.
It causes lack of appetite, diarrhea that can progress to bloody diarrhea, lethargy and depression, can cause vommiting ...
It is a nasty bug ... very common in stressed puppies. The puppy will test posiive if it is shedding the "bug"... specially in large ammounts.
Keep up the treatment as if you get it early like you did, it is a breeze to treat and it probably will be the last you hear of it !
Left untreated can be deadly ... unfortunatelly ...
Glad to hear all is better , and keep the NutryCal on hand.
Also see if the vet will reccomend adding some A/D for the first few days !
Blessings.
XOXO
