I purchased a new pin brush and CChristensen shampoo and conditioner i just used it today and his hair is a lot softer and was easier to brush after the bath but he still looks nothing like what other YTers achieve with their babies what should i do any other tips? |
Your baby is cute, just peeked at your pics. Your Edward might have a modified silk coat.
With the conditioner use Lots of it, particularly where his hair is thicker and might mat easier. Use even on his face topknot, beard etc. To rinse there you can use an empty ketchup squeeze bottle if you feel the spray nozzle rinse is too much. Also leave some conditioner in the coat, as well as let the conditioner soak in for 2-3 minutes at least. Now is a good time to give edward a massage

You want to feel that the coat is still slippery to your touch after rinsing conditioner. Also use cooler water on the rinse, that will help with the sheen. Lots maybe as much as a palmfull or so for his whole body
If you blowdry your boy you can try to ease the "curls" by gently pulling from root to tip and holding hair straight as you blow dry down the hair shaft.
Yorkies can be trimmed once a month or so - just take an 1/8 of inch or so off the coat ends everywhere.
As other posters say you need to use the product for at least 4 washes ie a month to see difference in coat.
Hang in there, you'll see a difference.
