Thank you!

Go buy a big magnet and drag it across the area. (Boat/marine shops carry strong magnets to retrieve tools that fall overboard) Clean the area with Dawn dish detergent and rinse well. Maybe put an xpen around the area to block her access to the area. You can also buy a replacement grill grid... if the metal is in pieces, you've probably ingested some as well!

********Keep the magnet well away from the dog!*******

Good idea!

Grills are very tasty to dogs. The grease gets baked into the finish, like when seasoning an iron pan. When they begin to deteriorate, all the juices seep into any cracks and crevices... yum!
She actually ate the pieces that were part of the lid and enclosure, not the grill itself. He has used this smoker so much and has not cleaned it in a long time that there was rust on top of the old metal. It was very thin, about like a potato chip.
