She is acting completely normal this morning. I have a call in to her regular vet and he will call me back.
The dh was out last night picking up the pieces of scraped off iron out of the grass. He is going to mow it with a bag attached to the lawn mower tonight. I just don't see how he can get every piece of it. Betty Boop is a nudger and she finds anything and everything in between blades of grass. Over time, I imagine it will works its way down deeper.
I'll post again after I talk to the vet.
Thanks everybody for your prayers and good thoughts. |
Go buy a big magnet and drag it across the area. (Boat/marine shops carry strong magnets to retrieve tools that fall overboard) Clean the area with Dawn dish detergent and rinse well. Maybe put an xpen around the area to block her access to the area. You can also buy a replacement grill grid... if the metal is in pieces, you've probably ingested some as well!
********Keep the magnet well away from the dog!*******

I am still amazed that she would eat metal. |
Grills are very tasty to dogs. The grease gets baked into the finish, like when seasoning an iron pan. When they begin to deteriorate, all the juices seep into any cracks and crevices... yum!
