I like the mop that we both have but after using this I can see how it really gets all the dirt up off the floor. Yes~you vacuum first, then use the brushes to clean and finally it sucks up any leftover water so your floor is virtually dry when you are finish. It was my husband that really talked me into buying one. I think the difference between the mop and this is that it has brushes that spin and loosen any dirt then picks up all the dirty water and store it in a separate compartment~so you are always putting only clean water down. With the mop you are putting it back into the dirty water.
