You know what I mean. For the most part, I have read the original posts on these threads and feel that these threads have disintegrated more so because of the replies -- rather than because of the original posts.
I am most definitely a proponent of free speech and the right to voice personal opinions. I wouldn't want to be part of any forum that allows less than this.
I find some of these (debates) far more interesting than the posts like, "I am a nawty wittle puppy. I pee'd on my mommy's bed last night." Good grief!!!
I don't even want to go there.
The majority of the posts here are questions and opinions about breeding, training, caring for, and raising little Yorkies. And, most of the replies are informative and very helpful. This site is a place to ask questions and share information with one another. It is also a place where we can share opinions and get responses.
I hope this forum stays a place where people feel free to post what they feel and question things they don't understand or agree with. I hope for the sake of learning that there will always be subjects and issues brought up that are thought provoking -- that may cause some disagreement and encourage some interesting dialogue ---for those who want to take part.
I personally do not take affront at anyone's posting their own opinion ---whether I agree with it or not. If you guys really want to start closing forums that you don't agree with or assuming that people are trying to cause trouble (which may not be the case) ---you might as well start burning books at the library.
I think very very few people would ever take the time to try and deliberately start problems on a forum such as this. They may well know that what they are saying will cause a lot of disagreement, in fact some of them have stated this, but that's okay. There's nothing wrong with that. I totally disagree with some things that have been posted or said, but I just respond with what I think or I move on to another thread that I find more interesting.
I want to make it clear that I do not approve of members asking the administrators or moderators to close threads that they do not agree with. These decisions should be left up to the moderators, who hopefully are more liberal and open minded than a few of the members are. And, who make their decisions based on original posts rather than a handful of member's responses.
What I have said is my own opinion and is not personally directed at anyone.
If it were personal - I would remember who posted what - and I don't.
Carol Jean | This needed to be said and it needed to be said by someone other than me!! LOL! Thanks for saying it so well! |
