  Well I support the idea of going to watch and observe.  I did last year.   One of the lovely things about this specialty is that if you stay at the hotel all you have to do is go down from your room to the show site.  Great.   But there are cameras there, and the indefinable aura of a big show.   
If you are used to showing in busy places, lots of spectators then this might not be a huge step for you.  
The balconey is great, but bring some binoculars to get some close up views.
