I gave my daughter her Yorkie (she is seven) no threats about caring for it I knew she would and I also support her and the whole family helps out. Very sad story for so many reasons!!! | It is very sad. I lived across from this family years and watched Jamie grow up. Knowing Jamie, it's very likely that her mother expected the pup wouldn't be taken care of as promised and that's why she did/threatened what she did. I'm not defending the mother by any means - to me, a pet is a lifetime commitment and I strongly disagree with her getting this puppy knowing her daughter wasn't ready for the responsibility.
