Since Sophie's a little girl, I wouldn't worry about shaving it off. It doesn't get wet when she pees, right? My Bullet (5 month old boy) is very hairy on his chest and it is hair right in front of his little wee wee, so the groomer did shave about 1 1/2 inches from his belly. He doesn't lift his leg to pee yet. Now when I pick him up after a pee, his chest isn't wet!
