Omg Major dew claw problem here! HELP!!

So apparently Poppy has a dew claw on each of her back legs. She hasn't been groomed in a while and I didn't even know they were there until I just looked and saw that they are CURLED UP INTO HER SKIN!

She won't let me touch them, she's hiding from me right now because I was trying to figure out if they're really up in the skin or not.

Is this painful?!!! I mean it has to be since she got upset and ran away, right?

What do I do?!!!! I've been putting off having her nails trimmed professionally because last time there was that black stuff that stops bleeding on every single nail and I do not trust anyone to not hit the quick, whereas I myself am too scared to hit it as well!!! I've been putting it off thinking it wouldn't hurt if I waited a little longer, let the nails grow out and found a good groomer who will NOT just hack at her nails and not hit the quick.

I asked some friends if they could recommend a GOOD groomer in my area and I'm waiting to hear back.

I'm taking her Saturday, is this a huge problem?

I'm soooo scared right now! (furthermore, why would someone remove the front ones and leave the back ones?)!
