I think you were right in what you said/did. Just a few rules:
1. Don't take your annoying, stupid kid to a nice restaurant, concert or other place where adults pay good money and spend time trying to enjoy themselves.
2. If you are stupid enough to take your kid to one of these said place, if they misbehave, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Do not pass Go; do not collect $200 dollars.
Parenting, in my opinion is an art form... and let's face it... not everyone is an artist.
Well-behaved (non-annoying/stupid) kids are welcome anywhere.
My four nephews are TERRORS. I told their mother that they are NEVER allowed in my home again, unless she shapes up as a mother. It's not their fault - it's hers.
