Default Doggy Door

My oldest baby picked it up quickly at about 6 or 7 months. I left the flap off for about one to two weeks then put it on. She wanted so desperately to follow me, she just started using it. Now my newest baby, who is now 6 months had a longer time trying to figure it out. I did the same thing and put the flap up for almost two weeks, then put it down. I tried to get her to use it, but she was afraid of the clicking of the magnet at the bottom. If I put her nose up to the doggy door, she would push it and go out, but not without me putting her there. After a week of putting her nose to go in and out, I just went outside with my oldest, and she barked for about a minute, then went out. To this day, she doesn't have a problem. She has been using it without any assistance for about two weeks now. My neighbor's yorkie will not go out a doggy door though unless you tape the magnet down. Good luck. I'm sure your baby will get it in time.
