Birth weight can be effected by the size of the litter. Litter size can also affect how much they weigh as puppies because in a small litter, they get more to eat, the might be fatter, but still small in structure.
I have experienced this too... fatter larger puppies who will slow down latter and end up smaller than charts, also had smaller pups who kept growing longer...
Usually i am able to guess pretty closed as i know my lines well. But i had a couple surprises before.
