I know it is scary but it is the best thing for them. Pixie had her first cleaning and teeth pulled when she was 2 1/2 and she had another one a few months ago at 4 1/2 years old. She did fine. Then l a couple of months ago I had to have my 5 year old Cali's teeth cleaned. She has mild liver disease and allergies so my vet used a special protocol and she also did fine. My vet gives them an antibiotic for 3 days prior to cleaning and I think it was 5 days after. I take them in at 8 am and she does them first and calls me as soon as they are done. I usually get a call by 9:30 that they are done and doing fine. I can then pick them up around 1 pm. My vet knows how worried I am and calls me herself to let me know. If you have any questions just ask. I also have the pre surgery blood work done to help make sure they can handle the anesthesia. Keep us posted.
