I'm guessing wraps are about the most unpleasant thing show Yorkies endure. Grooming in general, however, doesn't take away from a dog's life. My boys enjoy the attention and will often fall asleep from all of the massage I incorporate in the process.

Showing isn't just for human entertainment and it isn't just about looking good. It is to earn approval for the person's breeding stock. (The exhibitors can word that better than I can).
Well, I'm really glad to hear that. I guess this video was a bad interpretation for someone who, like me, really doesn't know much about showing. I'm sure they're not all like that. I understand bettering the breed and earning approval, etc. I'm all for that! I think that the world of dog shows sometimes can just get a little crazy and certain things I've seen and heard have left me a bad taste in my mouth. Not Yorkies in particular. I don't like what a lot of humans have done to the bulldog for example, simply to satisfy human wants and needs, or Pugs... they have major health issues now including breathing issues simply because humans wanted them to have more human-like expressions and face. But I do understand the benefits of dog showing and such... I just don't like what it's become. I'm not saying grooming takes away from a dogs life either because that's simply not the case.
