In my humble opinion my beef is that we have some folks giving advice on subjects that they have no exerience or true knowledge with. For example you post in a thread (made up instance) your darling 12 week old puppy will not hold his/her ears up you will be gave a lot of ways to correct this problem ( no one is the only way to do this). You can pick and choose what you are thinking sounds good to fix this problem. You can see a post from someone who states I have spoke to experts and you need to take this puppy in and have its ears cropped because they are too large or the comment could be don't worry you don't need to do anything they will come up on their own. You being new to the breed think wow- experts- person sounds like this is what I should do. You would be suprised at how many new to the breed do not know what to do with the care of the puppy. I do not want someone leading that new person done a wrong road just.
Some folks new to YT can and will assume that all these folks giving advice know what they are talking about. That is how people get taken by con men every day- they have the gift with words.
That is my concern- I love the debates and the differance of thoughts and the way we approach things.
I get calls in the middle of the night from YT's who are having problems whelping or with a puppy- they ask my thoughts I share what I know and what I have learned over the years and what has wworked for me. Do I have all the answers heck no. I suggest that they pick the brains of other YT members for advice and call the vet. I love to hear the thoughts of the group- I learn something every day.
There is a differance between offering another chain of thought in the discussion with facts and life experiences and just spouting off the top of your head. |
