Show dogs have lives too. Gemy's Sir Razzle Dazzle does everything Jackson does: swims, hikes, camps, and more. I have met and heard from other show people whose Yorkies are allowed to do more than mine.
I'm guessing wraps are about the most unpleasant thing show Yorkies endure. Grooming in general, however, doesn't take away from a dog's life. My boys enjoy the attention and will often fall asleep from all of the massage I incorporate in the process.
Showing isn't just for human entertainment and it isn't just about looking good. It is to earn approval for the person's breeding stock. (The exhibitors can word that better than I can).
