Sounds like a weird spot to get a bruise. I'd go ahead and take her into the vet if I were you. Better safe than sorry. Because of the food switch, it could be a reaction or any number of things really. If it doesn't wash off, and it doesn't go away after a day or so, I'd be ringing up the vet. Good luck.
