My yorkie Sadie did the same thing- although she was about 14 weeks when we got her. As long as your puppy was with his mom, she should have taught him how to play-
We had a big problem with biting though and at first it was cute, but then it started to really hurt and get very frustrating. What we did was got some puppy toys that are made for teething, especially the ones that you can get wet and freeze so it feels good on the gums/teeth. You can start by redirecting the puppies attention and when he bites the wrong thing say " no" or " ouch" really loud so that he realizes it hurts you. Always have chew toys available for your puppy.
Hope this helps!
