Not necessarily true. They all grow at different rates, and some stop growing earlier than others. Rocco was 2.7 lbs at 8 weeks, and he's now about 6lbs at 7 months. He hasn't gained too much over the past month so he may well be within the breed standard even though he was a larger baby. I don't care if he's 20lbs - he's perfect at any size.
