I was kneeling down in a grocery store one time and this kid about 5 years old came racing around the corner with a grocery cart and knocked me off my feet.
As I was getting up, I said to the little boy 'you need to slow down and watch where you're going'. I didn't raise my voice but just said it firmly.
Well his mother started yelling at me in the middle of the store about not having the rights to correct her child. I told her that had I been hurt when I fell I would have no choice but to sue her for medical expenses.
She had the nerve to tell me that it was the store's problem, not hers!!
Sheeesh!! That kid didn't stand a chance with a mother like that!!!
I guess what I'm saying, Elizabeth, I probably would have done the same thing you did.
