The baby is going to be leaving an environment that it knows and feels safe in to a brand new environment, as well as leaving the comfort and security of cuddling with its litter mates and mom. It is typical for them be be scared at first and will need to take time to get use to its new environment. Eash pup is different as to how long it takes and how it handles its new environment. Some have no problem at all and others take longer to adjust and will cry. If you have a blanket or bed from its original home to bring to your home with the old smells, it helps it adjust better. Also at night if you cover their crate with a blanket, they seem to cry less.
Best of luck and let us know how it goes. Just be patient and loving and your new one should do fine. It will also need to get use to your schedule, so training will need to be started and stick to a schedule. Just like skin babies, they do best with a schedule.
Wishing you all the best.
