Honey, it wasn't very long ago that I had to make the hard decision when to let our dear kitty Puff go. He had been with DH and myself when we lived in an apartment complex (one that didn't allow pets) and endeared himself to everyone there. When we moved into our new house we had him another 3 years. He got into a fight with my cousin's cat down the street (they don't vaccinate their cats) and later developed feline AIDS.It didn't take but a few months before he showed signs of illness and my vet checked him for it, Sure enough, it was AIDS and it was HELL telling my DH we were going to lose our boy. Long story short, HE let us know when it was time. Just listen to your heart and pay attention to your kitty. They know when it is time.
