I know what the soldier did was not excusable but who knows what he saw or had to do over there that desensitized him or has caused such anger. As a mom to a combat vet with a couple of tours I saw first hand how this changes them... sometimes into something they themselves do not like.
At least he took the dog and owned up to it. He will learn a lot from his community service I am sure. This will probably anger some and I apologize in advance. But he fought for this nation and deserves a wee bit of understanding and the chance to do better.
