Thanks for your well wishes. I really didn't want to post anything about this breeder until we had a definite diagnosis and once I did and found out there is every possibility that this condition is genetic, I felt i had to let people know. I didn't ask her for anything back, nor would I take another puppy from them - I just sent them a copy of the biopsy and other articles I had on liver shunts to, hopefully, make them aware and I also asked that they stop breeding Lexie's parents. I did notify APRI also, but don't think they will do anything. I never heard anything back from Pin Oak Kennels.

Lexie, at the moment, is doing quite well on Hills K/D and metronidazole, which is the recommended antibiotic for liver dogs. I have also just recently started her on Marin (vit E and Silybin and Zink). I will be so happy when she's back to her active ball fetching self!!
