The reason some companies will sell you without a prescription is that they say they have a vet online, but a real vet would insist that a heartworm test be given first. I wouldn't buy from company that would do it without a prescription; you just don't know the safety of the product. Lots of counterfeit products out there. | Thanks Nancy - I understand about you not minding the extra $ I haven't had to call them since Mia was little but I do take both of mine in regularly and spare no expense - we were also buying food there - but I'm a little upset about this pricing - it's like a 40% mark-up above the internet price. Gez, I'd really hate to see what they pay for it... probably $2.00
