Default July has started off with a bang!

I'm new here, and have mostly been lurking. On July 4th, for what I thought would be a 'low key weekend' where I could spend time with my new Yorkie and Lolly, my shi/tzu mix, I got a phone call. My son had a heart attack. He is only 34, so this concerned me greatly. I was told to 'hold off' on heading to Dallas, where they live, and on the 5th, everything changed. I had to come to the office that Monday, to try to get my inventory balanced, before I could leave Houston. I managed to lock myself out of the office that afternoon when I took the new yorkie outside to potty, and then the 'heat was on'. heh. I was in a dead panic, as I should have been getting ready to leave to go help with my grandkids up in Dallas, and there I was stuck with all my keys sitting in my office, and the dog and I outside. I finally got somebody to come let me in as we waited outside for a little over an hour. Then it was off to Dallas, arriving around midnight. I was in Dallas from midnight Monday night till Thursday of this past week, and what a week it was! My son had a 99.9 % blockage and had to have a stent put in to open up the artery, and is now doing fine, resting at home. I don't know how you can really rest with 6 kids ranging in age from 16 months to 11 yrs old, but he is supposed to be resting. It's good to be home, and of course the dogs are happy that we're home...but I just can't seem to 'get it together'. I'm at work during the day, then at home by 5:30 and all I can manage to do is sit and play with the puppies. I find it hard to even get up to sit at the computer to check my emails. sigh. I sure hope things get back to normal for me, because I always have lots to do. I just feel like the wind has been taken out of my sails. I think I'm worrying about my son already being diagnosed with heart problems at such a young age and it's just getting the best of me. The puppy kisses do help though. They make me smile even when I don't feel like smiling.
