I have central air and keep it on 70 degrees but my one dog shaffer hates the heat, he pants and pants after a walk. I often need to give him a cool water down in the sink. I did buy the cooling bed it looks kinda like a mat and it gets cool when you sit on it, Shaffer didnt like it at all he hated to sit on it, and while he is about 10 pounds im not sure he was heavy enough to make it work. I also use these cooling wraps that go around his neck, I bought them at a pet store they are like a little bandana filled with this gel that you put in ice cold water for about 10 min, then they stay cool for about 1 hour, they really seemed to help shaffer i bought a few of them and switch them out. I know they also sell them for people but they did cool him down. They worked great on the 104 degree days when my house ac would not get down to 70 degrees.
