We stayed in a hotel right down the street from Big Ben. I can't remember the name of the top of my head. The London Eye is very slow. It's quite amazing. I highly recommend it and even afraid of heights you should be ok.
PLEASE eat fish and chips at a pub. Yum. You should also see a show and have dinner. The area where the shows are is a great area to walk around. Search online (or I can help you) find a dinner/show combo.
