Different lab tests require different types of tubes; every tube has a different additive in order to not alter the lab result, so depending on what tests you needed done, they may have needed more than one type of tube.
Next time you see someone probing, its perfectly acceptable to ask them to stop and try another vein. Being stuck twice is surely less painful that what you just endured  |
Thanks everyone! I'm taking this as a lesson learned. I'm not one to usually speak up for myself when it comes to things like this. I'll speak up for my mom and dad, but for myself, I'm a coward. The second nurse that did the blood draw yesterday did it quick and painless. It's all better already. While my poor left arm looks like I've been through the wringer. It's a tad bit swollen and still looks like he**, but it doesn't hurt at all. I hate needles, but your last statement is so true! The second time was so not like the first and the results were much better.
To end on a good note, I personally delivered my health check along with other paperwork to HR, and it's already moved on to the next person. I'm so excited! I hope I get to start my new job soon.
