Well, I'm one of the ones that did home cooking 100% of the time for the first five years of my dogs' lives then stopped and did some dog food in conjunction with home cooked. Why did I stop? I stopped because to home cook for your dogs takes commitment and I found that I just had too busy of a schedule to commit to doing it all the time. Daisy also became intolerant to many food items as she aged due to allergies, IBD, and microvascular dysplasia.
We are on home cooked again 100%. My individual dogs thrive and do far better on home cooked than on pet food so it is the right choice for us. And, it really is not that bad spending weekends roasting chickens and stuffing ice cube trays and having no room in my freezer or fridge for my own food. They are worth it. Plus, I really do love chinese food and am happy with those containers.
