I checked out the Humane Society's webpage where they had a link to a chart of various states puppy mill laws. I was surprised to see there was no licensing or inspection requirement in Florida!

Maybe we should also contact our state reps to do something about it at state level too.
Many states are doing things at a state level and this is a good thing, a state can have stricter laws than the Federal government. What makes this new bill exciting is that they will be targeting commercial breeders who sell over the Internet, and no state covers this. They will also be trying to make the laws that are already in place more effective, by increasing penalties, for not following the law. If a penalty is too small, it's often cheaper to pay the fine than follow the regulation. As many of you know, it comes down to money, and some of the breeders will do whatever costs them the least money.
