I believe the Advantage Multi is a systemic medication , meaning once it is on it is absorbed into the system, so it cannot be washed off and its effectiveness isn't diluted very easily. I give it to both my boys (8# and 3#) and it DEFINATELY cheaper than flea and heartworm treatment seperately!
