You could always ask to have her back after the bloodwork for a couple hours although they may say no (this is usually when the vet does an exam, IV is placed, etc.). After surgery, she will be pretty out of it and owner being there probably wouln't help much.
I think she'll be okay.
And there are usually no specific surgery times at vet offices, so you wouldn't know what time to have her back by.
