I had wanted a dog since I was 4, but my dad said no because we lived in a crowded apt. I had to get my "dog fix" from my friends and relatives dogs. So, when I was old enough I started researching breeds that did well in apt living. I had narrowed it down to Westies, yorkies, malteses, and another breed that sheds a lot. When I was 20 I started volunteering at the SPCA's animal shelter. Low and behold, I'm allergic to anything with fur. I focused on "hypoallergenic" dogs, and decided it would be between a maltese or a yorkie. Then I found YT. I read all the stories, saw all the pictures, and I was hooked. I'm still allergic to Kaji
but my allergic reaction is mild compared to how I get after grooming the shelter dogs. As long as Kaji is his silly self, I can put up with my allergies.
