I totally feel your pain. We had a similar situation but with our Australian Shepherds. Stormie had a litter last August and will have at least one more (maybe 2). We skipped a heat and will breed again this August. Problem was when she was in heat, the male that we kept (Blaze) to be used as a stud was near-impossible! I don't even think it was so much sexual desire (he was only 6 months or so) but the fact that he had never been separated from his mom for any great length of time. They had to be kept in separate kennels at all times and they aren't used to being in kennels that long. I felt so bad for them BUT knew it was the right thing to do. If you're already into the 2nd week, you're halfway there. Be strong and just wait this out and then spay and neuter as planned. It's tough but you know it's best for them. Just be very aware that a gate between them is not always sufficient. They CAN and WILL find ways to procreate THROUGH the gate (given it has holes big enough). Good luck!
