I neede some serious help here and I hope someone can offer it up to me. I have 5 Yorkies and over the past 6 weekis all but one has been hospitalized with HGE.....The last one was just last week. At the time she was hospitalized the vet put all of the others on a course of Flagyl to try and prevent recoccurances even though this is not supposed to be contagious.
LAst night I had to rush one of the others to the ER vet again...bloody diarreaha,throwing up, lethargy and no eating. Forced down some Pedialite which just came right up. He is now back in hospital, protien to high borderline dehydraytion after only a few hours.
Last time I waited about 12 hours and 2 of them were on deaths door. Now I know to rush them right away to ER vet.
Costs run between $900-1000. for each confinement. ( I live in NY)

Does anyone know anything about this ?
