Hello friends! I'm back, but with questions about the new little guy. I have been working hard to get this guy house trained. I use the pads, which he uses sometimes, mostly only for peeing, and take him outside as much as possible so he can go outside. My problem is, I think he thinks he's not suppose to go outside. He will not go until he MUST if he's outside. And while he's holding it, he'll run practically in circles and whine and whimper cause he doesn't know what to do. Until he gets to the point he cannot hold it anymore. Then he'll go but if its #2 he'll be taking steps forward while he goes, like he's trying to hurry. If I have him outside and its been a while and i need to go in and I take him with me he'll sometimes go eithin minutes in the house on the carpet or where ever. This is a really big problem and i dont' know what to do about it. i scold him and tell him no and take him outside if I catch him going on the floor inside, but he just doesnt seem to get it. I live with roommates. One which is the owner of the house. He was nice enough to allow a pet and I feel bad about this.
I sometimes put him in the backyard and leave him out there for periods of time coming out periodically to see if he has gone yet, but usually he hasn't. And the cries and moans like crazy when i leave him out in hopes he'll go. I dont give into the crying and he'll usually stop after a while. I do not want him to think this behavior is ok.
any advice??
