Also make sure you use don't use rubber bands or anything like that - you want something soft that doesn't take any hair with it when it's removed.

I keep Thor in a puppy cut, but his previous owner did the same thing. She always had him in a top knot, and one day she noticed he was going bald. He is just fine now and I'm sure your guy will be too.
