I can see how it happen. I remember one time i was having work done on my house so people were constantly in and out. Whetn the painters left for the day, they went out through the garage door and left it open. A friend of mine came over to hang some blinds for me. Well about a half hour later, that's when I noticed Brandi was missing. Fortunately my neighbhor saw her and I was able to get her back. It does happen. We get busy doing something else and we forget.

I usually let my cat out on the back deck where she usually sunbathes. Because the deck does not have steps leading to the first floor, I will leave her out there for a few hours (she's stricly an indoor cat). My deck is on the second floor and i don't have to worry about her jumping off because it's too high. I have forgotten she was out there and she has meowed for me to let her in. She solved that problem by tearing a little hole in the screen and she lets herself in and out as she pleases.
