A little harsh, in MY humble opinion.
We know it's wrong, and it's not the optimal thing to do. But I can assure you that, in her shoes, I would have done the same. That's why I simply don't go in places that sell puppies and kittens ... it removes the temptation to free a pup and give it a good home.
