We have had leather couches for twelve years and it is just starting to wear BETWEEN the cushions- I didn't know much at the time but ALL leather is way better than "leather where the body touches". The tip about checking a sample for scratching is great. I've read that "bonded" leather is not that good... We got a darker color than I wanted but with 3 kids and two dogs I can't complain. If your furniture is going to recline I would look for a well known brand so your "mechinisms" don't break and the furniture stays sturdy.Leather is a little cool in winter but I just throw a blanket down for me and Ziva.
