It may not make much of a difference on the dewclaws, I don't know that much about laser surgery, and I would probably choose whatever the vet is comfortable doing. I've read one European member say that she had a dog's tail docked so that she could enter a US show, and it was done by laser, and he was able to be in the show the next day. I guess the laser cauterizes blood vessels, and healing time is faster, but like I said, I haven't researched this, it was in another thread here, and I found it interesting.
