Every night at 10 is bedtime for the furbabies. No matter where they are in the house (usually laying with Wayne on his perch in bed), I announce "Bedtime" and they come to the kitchen and get in their kennel (they listen so much better than my skin babies LOL).
As of late, we have had some really hot, humid weather that has been in the 101 to 102 degree range. We do not have central heat and air but do have window units placed throughout the house.
Last night, I moved Emma and Dawson's kennel in the front room where it is much cooler and announced "Bedtime" as usual. They both came trotting down the hall. Dawson went right in and Emma went straight to the kitchen where the kennel usually is. I kept looking at her and telling her to get in but for her that was a NO GO! She looked at me as if to say "that is not where I go when it is bedtime". She kept going back to its previous place.
I finally had to shut the door with Dawson still in it, and pick it up with Dawson still in it, and put it back in the kitchen with Dawson still in it. Only after it was back in its original place would Emma go in and then I had to pick it up with both babies in it and move it back to the front room. Whew, alot of hard work just to go to bed!
You should have seen the look on her face when she finally went in. It was like "I knew you would see things my way." I don't know but I think somewhere along the line I became the trainee instead of the trainer. God bless Emma and her habits!!
