Bless you, Yorkie Talker, for taking on a 5 month old Yorkie along with your 10 month old son! That's two babies at once, no mistake.

Without insulting human babies in any way, I do want to make the point that the puppy will need A LOT of focus if he's to get potty trained. As I hope you knew before you got a Yorkie puppy, small breeds are notoriously hard to potty train. I'm not sure if it's their small bladder size, or if it's that since it's such a SMALL puddle we don't get that upset... but they are. They take CONSISTENCY in potty schedule, and FOCUS when not confined. You have to take the attitude that every accident is YOUR fault because you either weren't paying attention to the signals, or you let more than 60-90 minutes go by without taking him outside.

On the other hand, our 14 week old sleeps through most nights because he sleeps in the bed with us. If he has to go, he gets up and yips, and I take him to a piddle pad. After that, he settles right back down.

But there are still lots of piddle accidents in the house if I get in the least distracted from his schedule.
