This will be a very difficult whelping. Even if the OP recognized labor and the vet does a successful c-section, the aftercare of the dam and pups will be overwhelming for a novice. I would think a rescue could at least be better able to provide the around the clock care these pups will most likely need. This would be a scary situation even for well-experienced breeders. There are many risks that are simply too much for a novice to deal with, or even to have time to find out about.
Not to mention the potential costs, even with things going fairly well.
