After treating the yard and home with frontline or other vet flea and tick medication . Then use capstar. It is a pill you give all of the pets in the home. Before giving the pill make sure you have a light color towel or sheet under the animal. Within 30 min all fleas will be dead. You would have to retreat again if you did not treat the house. I treated my home last summer after a rescue was brought to me flea infested and we did not notice until there were in the house. It took two pills each and frontline and the fleas have been gone from that point.
